Sometimes the best food comes when you least expect it and yesterday was no exception.
With it being the Christmas holidays all the restaurants were busy in the mall and we hunted in despair for somewhere not packed full of people. Finally we noticed @katsuyamiddleeast and it had plenty of empty seats. Our waiter kindly offered to suggest some choices as we had never been there before. First we had the Rock shrimp, they were absolutely Devine, soft shrimp, crispy batter and a beautiful light sauce. Lots of restaurants do their own version but Katsuya’s are by far the best. Next up was the sweet corn fritters, crispy, salty and smoky, delicious. The children’s meals are not your typical fries and burgers which is a breath of fresh air. Our 10year old opted for the Chicken teriyaki with wasabi mash and it also comes California roll and a side of prawn and vegetable tempura and declared it the best meal she’s ever had. Next came the star of the show...... braised short-rib beef bao buns, these were a hit with the whole family, super light and soft buns, melt in the mouth braised beef, crunchy red cabbage absolutely delicious. Now at this point we were pretty stuffed but still had the Yakasoba noodles to go, tender, well seasoned, juicy beef on top of a bowl of flavorful noodles. The food here was extremely impressive and mouthwateringly delicious 😋. We are already planning our next visit 🍴 #Yasmall #uae #katsuyabystarck #foodies #foodreview #scottish #notanAD #abudhabi #expat #lifestyle #foodblog #foodreview #foodstagram
